  this is what europe is becoming?

  my work colleague in germany sent my this article in an email and it is perhaps one of the most disturbing things i have heard yet.

  i have been hearing about many of these recent homophobic and transphobic hate crimes taking place across europe but this one slipped through the cracks.

  Oh sad news from my colleague. Another attack on the gay community in Kiel but this time the police are not allowed to prosecute. In fact it is a direct order so as not to incite violence against immigrants. So now immigrant's protection is more important than the gay community? I'm about to lose it. Wusah! Wusah!

  Edit: I'll update as I get the info: a group of 3 Somalian boys attacked a German man on a train because they thought he was gay, but it turns out he is not! Another passenger got hold of one boy but the police let him go after he had no evidence of identification and claimed to be 15 years old!! WTF?!

  i was raised as a witness and am very thankful that i am out.

  having said that, i think my upbringing produced positive qualities in me.

  Yes. I'm the best excuse maker in the world. I can justify just about anything. I can twist logic and facts to suit my needs. I can lie like the best of them (Is Hillary Clinton a JW?) I can smile in your face and stab you in your back (a JW specialty!) You know, useful things like that. Thank you Jehovah!

  I agree with Witness007. I really wanted to believe in the Jesus character because he seemed like a guy I'd like to know because he was about peace and love. But then I did some research on this Jesus dude and it turns out he is nothing more than another man who's character was polished up by politicians and ruling elite to use as a power play in controlling the masses. That was it. The Jesus you picture in your mind did not exist in reality. Sorry to disappoint you.

  I am sick just thinking about this. How many more rapes must occur? How many more stabbings? How much more crime? How many more homophobic and transphobic attacks must occur before the people stand up and deport the politicians who did this to them? I'm feeling ill from reading this. I get everyday an email chain with about 30+ incidents of rape and violence that is increasing exponentially in Europe. Sad, sad days are ahead. Europe has come so far only to return to intolerance and death.

  I was thinking, maybe someone savvy with photoshop could take a picture of the inside of a KH and photoshop that scripture in Luke 18:4 (I think) where it says to make sure you count the costs first before building a tower if not then you can't finish and everyone will mock you.   hello, this is my first post, i would like to introduce myself and say thank you to every one on this forum, you have been a lifeline to me these last few years.. i had been a jw for 30 years when i walked away a few years ago disgusted by the treatment victims of child abuse, domestic abuse and rape receive from the wtbts.. at first i thought it was a local problem, elders personal opinions, the way they handled the situations, imperfect men etc., until i checked out jehovahs witnesses and child abuse/domestic abuse online.

  that's when i realized they had the same modus operandi worldwide.

  that led me here, tbuo this forum, and then to crisis of conscience, jw facts, watchtower documents, jw survey, old watchtower literature and cd s, reading a couple of steve hassans books, and more recently exiting the jw cult.. the feelings of shock, betrayal, anger at the wtbts, angry with myself for being so gullible, depression, reflection, loneliness, have taken their toll.

  According to the email chain "the media has been attempting to cover over the trial and all evidence with only minimal reporting. Originally the media refused to report the crime as they did with the IKEA stabbings but eventually the news leaked from the migrant centre of registration which he then later fled, and a conservative journalist picked up on the story. The 36 year old Eritrean man went missing from the migrant centre shortly after registering as a refugee and lived with a Swedish family until they told him to leave for not paying allotted rent.   recent developments make me think they might be.

  the problems they are facing are not just lack of funds but also draining authority, and the two could be a heady and explosive mix.

  one of the best analyses ever written of the watchtower was a book called "trumpet of prophecy" by sociologist james beckford in the 1970s.
